History

The HBN was founded by Dr. Adityaa Polsani and Joshua Groman in January, 2003. In February 2003 the HBN was officially recognized as a University Organization by the Office of Student Involvement. On April 14th the HBN received seed money from the JHU Graduate Representative Organization. Also on April 14th, HBN launched its first website.

The successful “HBN Seminar Series” was launched on June 18, 2003, with Dr. William Tew, Executive Director of Licensing and Business Development presenting “JHU Technology Licensing - The Rules of Engagement”. Since then HBN has conducted more than a dozen successful seminars presented by luminaries including stem-cell pioneer, Dr. John Gearhart and Johns Hopkins President, Dr. William Brody.
